Last night, we had an abbreviated meeting, followed by a party with siblings and parents.
ASPL Kurtis W. opened the meeting and led a discussion about meal planning and nutrition. The patrols were tasked with creating a sample meal plan for a camping trip: one dinner, one breakfast and one lunch. It spurred on a lively conversation about what was practical, what was interesting and what to avoid.
Following the patrol discussion, the scouts went to the gym to run laps for five minutes (part of establishing their baseline performance for Tenderfoot requirements).
Before starting the party, several awards were made: Joshua R. and Eric S. received their “Scout Badge“; Kurtis W. received his Swimming and First Aid Merit Badges; Thomas C. and James C. each received their Swimming Merit Badges. More advancement awards are in progress.
Our Scoutmaster Minute continued the series examining the points of the Scout Law — this evening’s topic was “A Scout is Courteous”.
Our Scouts patiently waited while parents and siblings enjoyed first take on the buffet line, and then helped clean up before being dismissed for the evening.
