Heading home!


Its always fascinating how young men who were anxious to go home at the start of yesterday’s rain want to sleep late this morning—right when our mission is to actually go home.

I remember what it was like at camp at that age and I don’t hold it against them….its just mildly amusing now that I have children of my own.

Parents should be proud of their scouts for both working hard this week and for learning to depend on themselves just a little bit more than before coming to camp.  They’ve had to remember announcements from breakfast at dinnertime and know their class schedule each day.  They’ve participated in flag ceremonies twice a day and had specific responsibilities that other scouts depended on being completed.

Well we’re off to breakfast and then we have to clean camp and turn in equipment …. can’t just ride off into the sunset hoping someone else cleans up after us.
