Troop Meeting Recap (11/21/2011)

Two scouts led a discussion about the hazards, consequences and reasons to avoid controlled substances such as illicit drugs, alcohol and tobacco.  This was done to help other scouts complete “Second Class” requirement 9a:

  • Participate in a school, community, or troop program on the dangers of using drugs, alcohol, and tobacco and other practices that could be harmful to your health. Discuss your participation in the program with your family, and explain the dangers of substance addictions.

Later, we distributed additional popcorn sale take order forms (due by next week so that we can submit our new orders).

We also completed our review of the Scout Oath and how it relates to Christian ideals/principles found in scriptures.

Next meeting is at 7 PM on 11/28.  Topics may include First Aid for Second Class, Knots, Lashing for Pioneering Projects.

Any scouts who need to complete scoutmaster conferences should do so at this follow up meeting so that they can schedule Boards of Review during the 12/5 meeting.
