Reminder: No Meeting Tonight!

Reminder to troop families — there will be no scout meeting tonight.

We will meet next week (June 4) to prepare duty rosters for summer camp (who gets to serve as waiters, who gets to clean the latrine, who will clean the trails around camp, etc.)  We rotate these duties by patrol throughout the week so that everyone has a equal opportunity to do each of the tasks at least once.  It’s one of the most helpful parts of summer camp — teaching responsibility and hard work.

Additionally, during that meeting, I’m hopeful that the scouts will be able to practice the upcoming Court of Honor program and designate who will be master of ceremonies, etc.

The Court of Honor will be held on June 11th at FBC in the main sanctuary.  There will be four key components:  recognition of scout achievements since the last program; a guest speaker; and a pair of special presentations — one is a surprise and the other is our annual Friends of Scouting request for donations to support our district and council who provide programs for our troop and maintain our network of boy scout camps and special facilities.  PARENTS — please turn in all summer camp paperwork at the Court of Honor so that we can double check it.

On June 18th, we will be practicing our outdoor baking skills with cardboard ovens and charcoal to bake cookies.

On June 25th, we will have a last minute prep session for summer camp (to be certain that all paperwork is correct, etc.)
