In place of our normal troop meeting, tonight we will feature a special Court of Honor (COH). The COH program was compiled by one of our scouts as partial fulfillment of his Communications merit badge requirements. Matthew will also serve as our Master of Ceremonies tonight.
Our last COH was held on June 11th, 2012. Since that time, eleven scouts have completed thirty-eight merit badges (an average of 3.5 badges per scout during the past four months). About 80% of these badges were completed during our week-long trip to summer camp at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation near Stanhope, NJ. This is one of the best benefits of participating in the summer camp program — ready access to skilled counselors who can teach various courses during the week-long camp out.
Additionally, eight scouts managed to complete requirements for rank advancement ranging from Scout Badge to Life Scout.
Tonight’s program will include a flag ceremony, a candle lighting program, a video review of trips and outings since the last COH, recognition of individual scout achievements announcements of new Positions of Responsibility and a short scoutmaster minute.
The program will include refreshments supplied by scout families. The program will begin at 7 PM at First Baptist Church of Hackensack.
