Tonight’s Meeting (11/12/2012)

Tonight, First Baptist Church of Hackensack is hosting the annual NJHSA (Homeschooler) meeting in the main sanctuary.

Like last year’s service project, we’ve been asked if we can arrive early (i.e. between 6:30 and 7:00 p. m.) to:

  1. Help set up tables in gym
  2. Direct people from the parking lot to the nearest door, and to the sanctuary
  3. get ready for a flag ceremony (including coaching newly minted cub scouts on the procedures), and to lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance
  4. help staff a table (recruiting new scouts and cub scouts) in the gym
  5. help clean up afterwards – by putting tables away

During our troop meeting (following the opening ceremony) there are a number of practical items to complete based on SPL Kurtis’ plan for the evening.

  • We have a camping trip coming up pretty soon (cold weather gear is a must).
  • Additionally, anyone who sold popcorn should bring money (a check made out to “TROOP 113” would be prefered).

Paul Farrell, Scoutmaster, Troop 113
