Last night’s meeting was highly productive (if a little chaotic).
- The new cub pack met and had five out of seven boys show up. They range from Tigers to Webeloes, and they had a great time. They were each provided with a derby racer kit and an informational sheet with ideas, websites, design tips, etc.
- Our troop also received kits and reminder sheets about the rules and such.
- The Patrols met to discuss planning for the upcoming meeting agendas, topics and outing ideas.
- The scouts organized themselves into several small working groups to pursue merit badges. The small groups will choose a badge to work on together and split up the requirements. Each boy will master one or more of the requirements and then teach the other scouts what they must learn/do to complete the requirement. This approach would make the learning process more fun and interactive; however, each boy will still need to appear before a counselor to demonstrate mastery over all the various requirements.
During the meeting, our SPL was able to complete his Board of Review for Star rank. Congratulations, Kurtis!
