Summer Camp 2013 Deposits Due Monday

Pool as seen from top of waterslide 2010I have confirmed one scout who will not be joining us at summer camp this year, and I have already received one deposit for another scout.   I suspect that most of the unit will be attending.

The “Full Price” cost per scout per week is $365. However, the “EARLY BIRD” rate is only $340.  To get this rate we MUST receive a $50 deposit per scout by February 18th and the balance by April 22nd. 

Adult leaders who are interested in going for either a partial week or full week should try to attend our meeting Monday night to discuss the situation with the camp and how we would like to address it within the unit.2011 dining hall

Parents, please write checks to “Troop 113“.  If you plan to pay with cash, please bring exact change in a marked envelope — I can’t make change for all families and I don’t want to have to remember who paid and who didn’t — please put payments in a marked envelope.

REFUND POLICY (per Resica Falls Scout Reservation): The $50 individual deposit is Campsite in the morning 2011not refundable under any circumstances. Within 30 days of your arrival date at camp, refunds will only be considered for the following reasons. An individual may become ill or otherwise unable to attend camp. Since the camps have incurred expenses related to the reservation such as staff employment, food costs, and program materials, not all fees are refundable. The refund of the balance of any fees paid will be based upon the proximity to your arrival date in camp and if it meets the criteria outlined below. In all cases, requests for refunds must be in writing and submitted to the Cradle of Liberty Council Camping Office on or before your arrival date in camp (these letters may also be submitted at check-in at camp on Sunday). This letter must be approved and endorsed by the Unit Leader. Refunds will be made to the Unit Leader only. Criteria used to consider a refund will include the following reasons only and appropriate documentation should be submitted with your letter requesting a refund:

  1. Scout’s illness – written statement is required from physician.
  2. Extreme family emergency – written statement is required from parent.
  3. Summer School – written statement is required from school principal or guidance counselor

Fossil Rock Swimming Hole 2011Each scout or adult leader who is planning to attend summer camp should also be certain that they have the correct BSA medical forms – PARTS A, B and C (CLICK HERE) completed and signed by their doctor.

Any scout or adult with an incomplete form or a form not signed by a doctor WILL BE SENT HOME FROM THE CAMP WITHOUT REFUND.  (yes, it’s that serious).
