Last night, we had a “Bob” sighting! Bob appeared in civilian attire (no uniform) and gave us an update on everything going on in “Bob-Land” with his house and job. All is well.
Our SPL, Tristan, covered the “highs and lows” of our recent campout at the 3 Rivers District Camporee.
Among the “highs”:
- “Burgers!” (great food)
- Orienteering (our teams came in 1st and 3rd out of 20+ teams)
- Great weather
- Nice camping area – good facilities
Among the lows: not enough time.
We introduced the details for two upcoming trips — one with Troop 777 for a wilderness survival and dutch oven cooking weekend at Camp Winnebago, and another for the COPE course at Camp Lewis. Details on these trips either have been or will be distributed by the scoutmaster to each family.
Please respond to SPL Tristan D. ASAP or by Thursday at the latest to confirm whether you’re attending or not.
The PLC met with all scouts to confirm everyone’s rank and merit badge status. There is a merit badge fair coming up in November, and we’ve decided to work on Personal Management (http://usscouts.org/mb/mb011.asp) and other eagle required badges over the next couple of weeks. We’ll also be helping some scouts get to First Class along the way.
At next Monday’s meeting, we will provide worksheets for Personal Management (however if you have already started this badge, bring your notes and materials AND blue card).
